“We selected Farrow and Ball’s Mizzle to paint this cabinetry to connect the outdoors with the indoors in our client’s mud room,” she says. “The sage tone serves as a backdrop to a multi-striped cushion and harmoniously blends with the blue-green wainscoting.”

For Ashley Clark’s team at sKout Interiors in Costa Mesa, California, earthy tones of army green are all about nostalgia. In fact, they’ve used green sectionals in two kids’ rec rooms. 

“Green adds a timeless touch to contemporary spaces,” Clark says. “It’s where vintage charm collides with bold modernity, and we can’t get enough!”

Still snoozing on white sheets? Los Angeles designer Brady Tolbert says to consider swapping them out for a more colorful set, such as these olive green sheets from The Citizenry.

Your walls are yet another opportunity to update your home for the fall season, Tolbert says. 

“My favorite trick is using shadow box frames from Michaels or JOANN,” he says. “They come in various sizes and have a thicker frame for a custom feel with a ‘float mount’ effect. Since the back isn’t permanent, you can easily swap out artwork with the seasons.”
