It’s one of the best times of the year to make a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Mickey Pumpkin Halloween

Christian Thompson/Disneyland Resort

There’s nothing like Halloween at Disneyland—from the huge Mickey-shaped pumpkin on Main Street to the delicious eats and drinks to the transformation of the Haunted Mansion to Haunted Mansion Holiday (The Nightmare Before Christmas fans, are you ready?)—it’s one of the most festive times of year at the park.

Fans will be happy to know that there are plenty of Halloween classics returning to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. At Disneyland, there’s the aforementioned Haunted Mansion Holiday, plus the “Halloween Screams” fireworks show. At DCA, attractions are transformed for the season: Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. Oogie Boogie Bash, the after-hours Halloween costume party at DCA, is also returning on select nights from August 18 to October 31.

In addition to Halloween fun, the parks are also honoring Dia de los Muertos again with decor, entertainment, and activities at the Plaza de la Familia in DCA.

And while we’re glad to see old favorites returning, we’re even more excited to check out everything that’s new this season. Consider the below a handy cheatsheet for your next visit:

  • Check out Mickey, Minnie, and friends in their new outfits that feature harlequin motifs with fringed collars and cuffs.
  • Enjoy new dishes and drinks: Buffalo chicken ranch pull-apart bread with cream cheese, parmesan ranch, and fried onions at Outdoor Vending Carts in Disney California Adventure Park; Vietnamese coffee with ube sweet cream foam from Cozy Cone Motel – Churros 1; and a Churro hand tart from Market House.
