We already know that Amazon is a great shopping resource for everything from books and tech gadgets to clothing and even groceries—but did you know that you can also hire professionals to help you with household tasks?

Like Angie’s List, Taskrabbit, or similar sites, Amazon Home Services allows you to book a wide range of home pros—all through your Amazon account. The marketplace, which has been around since 2015, has grown to include services like smart home consultation, too.

Though you might be worried about letting someone you hired off the Internet into your home, Amazon has got you covered. Professionals can join the marketplace through invitation by the retailer, or by applying. Amazon then screens through media searches, online interviews, reference checks, and background checks (both criminal and business). All experts need to have licenses and insurance. 

To purchase and book a service, customers can either buy a pre-packaged service with a fixed price (like two hours of cleaning) or they can submit a custom request and receive estimates. When booking, home owners select three different dates and time frames and the pro confirms an appointment. All of the payment is done through your Amazon account, making it super easy.

Holiday light installation: For next year’s holiday season, consider hiring someone to help you hang those outdoor lights. Now, you don’t have to worry about falling off any ladders.

House painting: Whether you need an accent wall done, or your whole exterior needs to be spruced up with a new coat of paint, you can hire a professional for the task.

Printer setup: This one’s for the technophobes. It may seem like an easy task, but if you really can’t figure it out, Amazon’s here to help.
