Even though summer doesn’t officially start until June 21, by the time June 1 rolls around, we can consider the season in full swing. That means it’s prime time for grilled meats and veggies at barbecues, cool desserts, picnic baskets full of sandwiches and salads, and so much more. And with summer produce in abundance, we’re planning our menus around cherries, peaches, watermelon, tomatoes, sweet corn, summer squash, and more goodness from the farmers market.

To help you plan your June menus, we’re sharing our favorite recipes to cook this time of year. Appetizers and salads like Boysenberry Wine Compote with Goat Cheese and Basil, Sake Soy Guacamole, and Summer Squash Carpaccio and Shaved Cheese Salad. Plus, hearty mains for all palates like a Classic Burger, Pasta with Basil, Tomatoes, and Feta, and Grilled Lamb with Chocolate Mint Salsa. And don’t forget about dessert—everyone will love sweet like Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream, Bluebarb Pie Ice Cream Sundaes, and Peach Bread Pudding. It’s one of the most fun times in the kitchen (or at the grill!).
