Nestled along the scenic Highway 1, in the far southwest corner of Santa Barbara County’s Sta. Rita Hills AVA, The Barn at The Hilt Estate is home to two of Santa Barbara County’s most esteemed wine estates: JONATA and The Hilt Estate. This architectural masterpiece was brought to life by renowned architect Howard J. Backen of the firm Backen & Backen Architects and Silvia Nobili of Nobili Marqués Arquitectura, with interiors by Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors Design Studio. Having opened in 2021, The Barn at The Hilt estate serves as a gorgeous backdrop for wine lovers to taste in an indoor-outdoor space, with sophisticated yet unassuming California farmhouse elegance. Several tasting flights are available, offering experiences for wine-loving novices and collectors alike. Selections range from The Hilt’s vibrant, cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Sta. Rita Hills to JONATA’s portfolio of structured estate-grown blends from the Ballard Canyon AVA.
