Hayward
Hayward, from Executive Chef Kari Shaughnessy, is a must-visit on a trip to Oregon Wine Country. Chef Kari has honed a keen take on what she calls “New Northwest” style, where produce and proteins sourced from local farmers and purveyors take center stage and are transformed through fermentation, whole animal butchery, and fresh preparations at peak seasonality.
In 2024, Hayward was one of the 10 finalists nominated for Best New Restaurant at the James Beard Awards, and in 2025 Chef Kari was nominated again for Best Chef (NW and Pacific). Her hyper-local, seasonal, radical zero-waste approach, and her rejection of traditional “fine dining” restrictions, set her apart as a leader in the national restaurant scene.
