This New Big Bear Hotel Is Like Living in a Magazine (And It’s Now Open for Your Winter Getaway)
Noble + Proper brings thoughtful modern mountain design to Big Bear.
Big Bear has always been an iconic mountain escape, especially for Southern Californians. The only problem is, there aren’t a ton of top-tier accomodations out that way, especially nothing as design-forward as what husband-and-wife team Sara and Sven Simon have done at the newly minted Noble + Proper.
The two acquired the property in 2021, and set about transforming each dwelling into a highly personalized environment, opting to name each of the cabins after one of their grandparents. This gave Sara, who is a designer by trade, a distinct muse for every dwelling. No two are the same, meaning repeat visits can be moments of surprise and wonder.
The property, which is made up of seven 830-square-foot cabins, is an exploration of color, curation, and luxury in an iconic mountain setting. Each of the cabins is made up of two bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths that are tiled to the nines.
In the case that that’s not enough space, there’s also a 3,000-square-foot cabin with four bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths on offer as well.
Each cabin is stocked with Parachute bedding and cozy wood-burning stoves to keep the place warm.
On-site amenities include complimentary bicycles, BBQs, picnic tables, hammocks, and horseshoes.
The property is just 1.5 miles from Snow Summit, the ski resort in Big Bear. Prices range from $495 to $1,995 per night. Head to nobleandproper.com for more information.
