The Happiest Place on Earth is counting down to a day designed for the biggest Disneyland devotees. Dubbed “The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim,” D23 Day at Disneyland will be hosted on Thursday, August 13, and freebies start at rope drop.
Upon arrival, early risers will score a complimentary Mickey Mouse ear hat with the D23 Day logo and a commemorative—though Disney warns limited quantities are available, so you’ll want to arrive at the parks as soon as possible.
Can’t make it to rope drop? There are plenty of all-day perks to enjoy, too. During this special event, all park guests will get complimentary unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos. Photographers are positioned near various attractions and at photo op locations at both parks, and on a typical day, the PhotoPass+ costs $25 per day.

D23 will welcome several merchandise drops, including limited edition dolls to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and the 75th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland. Select guests can also experience a live performance of “Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration,” which will have a virtual queue opening at 12 p.m. PST. If you don’t score tickets to the concert, or won’t make it to D23 Day, you can stream the concert on Disney+ and watch it on Disney Channel, Freeform, and ABC on Sunday, August 16.
Whether you’ve already picked out your outfit for D23 Day or simply want to join in on the fandom, you can become a member of D3: The Official Disney Fan Club here. Plus, members can take advantage of discounts and special offers at several Downtown Disney eateries and shops now through August 16.
I’ve been visiting the parks since the 90s, but I’d argue now’s the best time to head to the parks. As the 70th anniversary celebration winds down and spooky season approaches, there’s still so much to do. (P.S. There’s still one month left to nab the limited-time kids’ summer ticket offer!).
