Four 6 1/2- by 7-foot dormers—one on each side of the house—were the inspiration for four distinct project rooms. Pennington created a reading alcove, an artist’s loft, a photographer’s cataloging center, and a gift-wrapping space to illustrate some of the functional possibilities.
