Story Architecture

Story Architecture is a Seattle-based design studio devoted to creating homes that express the dialogue between people and place. Each project begins with listening—to the land, the light, and the lives unfolding within—and helping that story emerge with clarity, care, and creativity.

Founded by architect Miriam Larson, Story is grounded in craftsmanship, empathy, and realism. Miriam’s background in carpentry and affordable housing shapes a hands-on, budget-conscious approach that values integrity over excess. Her designs are guided by an understanding that beauty often comes from restraint; from materials that age gracefully, and from spaces that hold the character and memory of their inhabitants.

At Story, architecture is sensory as much as it is structural. A quiet wall shifting with the light, the scent of cedar after rain, the glow of a hearth at dusk—these moments define what we create.

Each project is an act of storytelling, rooted in collaboration and respect for the Pacific Northwest environment we call home. Through thoughtful design and clear communication, Story Architecture strives to create spaces that feel inevitable, personal, and enduring—not just structures, but stories worth remembering.
