This tufted sofa bed is as cute as it is cozy—and it pulls out into a king-sized bed.

Seriously, This Is Hands Down the Most Stylish Futon Ever

There is nothing more difficult than shopping for a couch, especially as a tall human. This winter I moved up to San Francisco, and given the smaller living room area in my Victorian apartment, I needed to ditch the giant L-shaped sofa and downsize. With my priority being hosting guests, many of whom are equally vertically blessed (both my dad and brother are 6’6″), I needed a functional, affordable option without sacrificing comfort or style. And I found it in the new Plush Pacific Brown Sven Tufted Sofa Bed from Article.

Its signature tufted bench seat, overstuffed cushions, and round bolsters are super stylish, and I love the new Pantone color of the year-adjacent shade of rich mocha. The ultra-soft velvet gives it a classy and timeless look with a slight retro vibe, perfect for my eclectic Victorian apartment.

Best of all, the setup of the Sven sleeper sofa is incredibly easy. Simply pull it out using the cloth handles located on the frame, and you’ve got a king-sized bed. Even better, you won’t have to waste time building it, as it comes fully assembled and only requires you to put on its bottom legs. (You can also order white glove service to have your delivery professionals unbox and install the couch where you’d like it.)

So far, I’m totally pleased. The couch is always the first thing to get compliments in the living room—and that’s saying a lot since I have a strikingly silly silver octopus side table seated right next to it, not to mention the original Victorian-era built ins, crown molding, and fireplace. The couch is a real showstopper.

And thankfully, the fabrics are incredibly resilient. I wish that I could teach my 15 year-old Shiba Inu not to hop up on the couch, but at this point we’re far beyond learning new tricks. He’s been lying at the foot, and the abrasion resistant velvet is holding up extremely well. (Article says that they subject the Sven to up to 50,000 rubs for testing, exceeding the industry standard of 20,000 rubs, ensuring exceptionally long-lasting fabric.)

The sturdy corner-blocked wooden frame made of 100% pine is adorned with a tufted bench seat and loose fabric-backed back cushions. There are two bolster pillows included, but for truly comfy television viewing I think I’ll add a couple more throws into the mix, perhaps something blush pink or cream to offset the rich brown.

If you’re looking to upgrade your office, guest, or living room with a groovy sleeper that gives futons a good name, definitely check out the Sven Tufted Sofa Bed.
