Here Are All the 2019 James Beard Award Finalists in the West
Over two dozen Western chefs and restaurants could win categories such as Best Chef, Outstanding Service, Outstanding Wine Program, and more
The James Beard Awards are basically the Oscars of the food world—a time to celebrate the greatest chefs in America. Which makes today just like that winter day when you learn the names of all the Oscar nominees because, well, today we learned the names of all the James Beard finalists—and you can be very sure the West was well-represented. In all, 29 chefs and restaurants are finalists. (Some of the restaurants are even affordable!) The awards will be presented in Chicago in early May, and till then here are the finalists:
