Fort Churchill State Historic Park

At the edge of Nevada’s high desert, Fort Churchill State Historic Park brings the spirit of the Old West vividly to life. Once a bustling U.S. Army post and key stop along the Pony Express in the 1860s, its breathtaking ruins now set the stage for a bold new chapter.

A brand new exhibit experience created in the 2,700-square-foot visitor center reimagines the magic of this area and the history. Inside are new interactive media, dynamic maps, and immersive storytelling transport visitors into the lives of soldiers, settlers, and travelers.

Step outside, and the landscape becomes part of the story. A scenic viewing deck reveals sweeping desert vistas, while a unique in-ground sky feature invites moments of reflection.

Created by designers Ralph Appelbaum Associates and fabricators Gizmo Art Production, the exhibits and exterior elements create a gateway to discovery—welcoming visitors to connect with Nevada’s rich history in an unforgettable way.
