Liberty Station
Liberty Station is San Diego’s historic destination for shopping, dining, education, arts and entertainment. Originally the Naval Training Center (NTC), the 600-acre base operated from 1923 to 1997, before transitioning to this 361-acre adaptive reuse project. In 2023, Liberty Station is celebrating 100 years of excellence, first as the NTC then as an unforgettable destination. Visitors experience a unique fusion of the past and present as most buildings are original to the NTC and are repurposed for modern-day use, including San Diego’s first public market, which was the NTC’s Mess Hall. Liberty Station is a timeless destination, steeped in history.
