Two brands that have become a staple of outdoor and fitness enthusiasts alike, Cotopaxi and HOKA ONE ONE, are teaming up on a gear launch for a cause that should instantly land the items at the top of everyone’s “I should buy that” list.

The new items now available to add to your shopping cart are the Torrent 2 trail shoe and the Batac 16L Del Día Backpack. Those familiar with HOKA will enjoy the familiar lightweight, mobile feel of the Torrent 2, which runs for $130. The $65 backpack, meanwhile, is made from repurposed materials and features “color blocks celebrating the bold, empowering, unapologetic ethos of HOKA and Cotopaxi,” according to a release.

As part of the collaboration, the two companies will join forces on April 23 for Cotopaxi’s “Questival,” a virtual edition adventure scavenger hunt series in which teams of two to six people complete community-oriented challenges over a 24-hour period.

The event, themed “Chase the Bright Side,” will send proceeds to Big City Mountaineers, “an organization providing free, fully-outfitted, professionally-led backcountry trips for youth from disinvested communities,” the release said.

“Cotopaxi’s passion for sustainable design and community building is at the core of our brand, and our tireless efforts to support the greater good are evident through thoughtful product creation, impact and cause-driven work, and our considered collaborative partnerships,” said Davis Smith, CEO and co-founder of Cotopaxi.

“By joining forces with HOKA to drive economic and social equity through products, events, and shared grants to Big City Mountaineers, our two brands can increase the value we provide to our shared community.”

Additionally, a percentage of product sales from the collaboration will be sent to Big City Mountaineers, company representatives said.

“Partnering with a like-minded brand in Cotopaxi helps us empower more people to explore their world and, hopefully, dedicate themselves to changing it for the better,” said Gretchen Weimer, Product vice president at HOKA.

Weimer called HOKA “humbled and honored that this partnership can help support the work of Big City Mountaineers, whose mission empowers potentially life-changing access to the outdoors for youth across the United States.”
