Into the Woods
Outdoor Lounge
“For Melissa, our selfie-loving bride, a station encouraging guests’ photos was a must! We created a beautiful area with soft seating, cameras, and the most beautiful natural backdrop. You better believe she got her selfie on, but so did all of her guests,” adds Sheils.
Stately Seat
Take your photo booth idea to the next level by incorporating a unique backdrop that highlights a special place. “Pop a gorgeous upholstered piece in there as well, and give guests a place to perch while they make memories,” suggests Morgan Montgomery of vintage rental company Paisley & Jade.
Wonderwall
You can never go wrong with a flower wall made up of greenery and pastel-hued roses. It’s an elegant and eye-catching decor element to complement a stylish country club wedding.
Retro Chic
"A vintage Volkswagen bus decked out in retro Hawaiian prints and props is the perfect accessory for an island wedding. Who needs a boring photo booth in paradise? The Hawaiian Photo Bus is a working photo booth and provides just the right amount of kitschy chic,” says Morgan Childs, creative director of Moana Events.
Nature as Canvas
“As if the white, sandy beaches of this destination wedding were not enough of a beautiful backdrop, you can add to the magic of the ocean by choosing a mix of whimsical fabric and lush florals in a garden setting overlooking the sea,” says Amy Abbott of Amy Abbott Events.
Perfectly Framed
“Play with the wedding color palette trend of deep burgundies, tropical greenery, and blush hues, along with a copper geometric backdrop. This backdrop also served double duty as a entry point for the couple and their guests into the reception area,” Abbott explains.
Cheers!
“We wanted to create a spot that incorporated soft seating for guests to rest in between dancing, but also encouraged them to snap selfies to capture special moments throughout the night,” says Samantha Anderson of Samantha Anderson Events. “All night, guests were saying ‘Cheers!’ to the bride and groom in our selfie lounge!”
Everything Is Illuminated
“Enhance the look of a ballroom wedding with an installation of delicate paper flowers to serve as a backdrop for photos,” suggests Tommy Waters of The Renaissance Hotel. Since ballrooms usually lack natural light, a flower wall like this one, together with the soft white lights that illuminate it from behind, will add a beautiful pop of brightness to the setting.
Clean Lines
"This actually served as the ceremony backdrop and then was transitioned into a photo area so guests could take pics with it throughout the evening. It was such a great multi-purpose decorative element. The wedding was in Palm Springs and the bride was channeling more of a festival vibe throughout the day. The triangle was constructed by a friend and really felt unique to the space and couple,” explains Jennifer of HoneyFitz Events.
Artful Display
“Have your lounge area pull double duty by creating visual interest to serve as a great place for your guests to snap a few photos. This setup features benches and geometric table displays at varying heights. Greenery and florals round out the aesthetic, creating a layered look,” says Kylie Carlson of International Academy of Wedding and Event Planning.
Seeing Green
Not a fan of colorful flower walls and on a tight budget? Opt for a more classic boxwood hedge wall customized with the couple’s names. It’s simple but just as pretty and striking as a flower wall. You can use it as a ceremony and cake-slicing backdrop as well as a “photo booth” for your guests.
