I love playing tour guide to friends visiting me in San Francisco: walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, hiking the Lands End Trail, tasting in wine country… But out of all the touristy attractions in the Bay Area, my hands-down favorite is Alcatraz: I love the gardens, the history, the ferry ride out— everything.

So you’d think I would’ve made it out to see art star Ai Weiwei‘s much-buzzed-about exhibit there, right? It’s been getting great reviews, and when it opened, back in September, it felt like I had all the time in the world. But now, it’s closing in less than a week (on April 26th!), and I still haven’t been.

In other words: See you at Alcatraz this weekend?

Tickets to the exhibit are included with price of admission to Alcatraz; you can buy tickets here.
