With all of this year’s “May gray” and “June gloom,” it seems summer really snuck up on us. And yet, here we are, ramping up for Fourth of July weekend. If you’re anything like me and haven’t nailed down what to do yet, fear not. It’s not too late to find a camping deal. Campspot put together a list of some excellent campsites for the holiday weekend that can still be booked.

If you are aiming to get out on the road, it’s smart to plan. AAA projects 70.9 million travelers will head 50 miles or more from home over the Independence Day holiday travel period, which includes the entire July 4th week, plus the Saturday before and the Sunday after the holiday. This year’s projected number of travelers for that time period is a 5% increase compared to 2023 and an 8% increase over 2019.

“With summer vacations in full swing and the flexibility of remote work, more Americans are taking extended trips around Independence Day,” said Paula Twidale, Senior Vice President of AAA Travel. “We anticipate this July 4th week will be the busiest ever with an additional 5.7 million people traveling compared to 2019.”

Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly campground or a serene, relaxing place to unwind with friends or even solo, there’s something for you. From dazzling firework displays to fun-filled activities like barbecues, parades, and games, these campgrounds offer everything you need for a memorable Independence Day. So gather your family and friends, pack your camping gear, and get ready to enjoy the holiday. Here’s what’s on offer:
