Face Masks That Look Good and Give Back

In April, the CDC made a statement recommending we wear cloth face mask coverings in public settings where social distancing is difficult to maintain, such as the grocery store and pharmacies. In many cities, officials are enforcing masks to be worn at airports and on public transit, and private businesses have been requiring shoppers to wear masks.
If you don’t already own a mask, there are plenty of stylish options that also give back to the community. Here, we rounded up five stylish masks, all made in the west.
Janessa Leone
This multifunctional suede bandana can be worn in several ways, from a face covering to a stylish bandana around your neck. We love L.A. menswear brand Buck Mason’s masks. They’re anti-microbial, durable, and come in a variety of colors and ear-loop styles. And we love them even more for their commitment to their own Masks for America initiative. This program donates masks to essential workers at the rate of one donated for every one sold.
Clare V.
Our favorite French-girl brand is making face masks. Each four-pack is made from deadstock fabric, produced locally in L.A., and embroidered the brand’s signature lips patch for a whole lotta love. Clare v. is continuing efforts to donate non-medical grade masks to first responders and essential workers.
Christy Dawn
L.A. based sustainable dress brand, Christy Dawn, is using scrap fabric to create masks in the style approved and needed by the Deaconess Health System. And, for every purchase of a face mask 10 Pack, Christy Dawn is donating 10 masks to those in need including medical workers, first responders, social workers, and the homeless population.
