At the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, the landscape is part of the detail that tells the story of each land in the parks. More than 3,000 species of plants indigenous to 40 nations grow at the Disneyland Resort, making it one of the most extensive and diverse botanical locales in the western United States. The Horticulture and Resort Enhancement team manages the landscape plus the annual addition of seasonal dŽecor for Halloween and Holidays.

There’s good news for Monorail riders: The nose cone section is open to the public once again. This part of the Monorail was closed off back in March 2020 when the entire park shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a WDW News Today report. Now, after four years, you can sit in what’s known as the “nose cone,” (aka the very front) and join the Monorail pilot who operates the vehicle.

The Monorail is a high-speed, zero-emission transportation system that takes riders on a 2.5-mile, 13-minute round-trip excursion all over the Disneyland Resort. It travels between two stations, one at Downtown Disney and the other in Tomorrowland.

The Monorail opened in June 1959, becoming the first daily operating monorail in the Western Hemisphere. Over the years, the route has changed as the park has expanded, and it’s been updated with the latest technology.

Disneyland reopened in April 2021, but the Monorail didn’t take its next ride until October 2021. Until now, seating at the nose cone and back of the Monorail were not available.

“There is no separate line for the front cabin of the Monorail,” WDW News Today shared. “If you’d like to ride in the section and it fills up, you can simply ask the Cast Members if you can hang back and wait for the next ride.”

If you’re ready to hop aboard, the Monorail operates from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m., and all heights and ages are welcome (though children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by someone 14 years or older).
