Alert: the tiny houses are on the move! Repeat: they are on the move!

A flock of tiny houses is heading west on the Oregon trail for TinyFest, a celebration of simple miniature living. The festival is popping up in San Diego on February 29 and March 1, and in Portland sometime this year (dates to be determined).

From shipping containers to backyard cottages, mobile homes on wheels to big bus conversions, attend and you’ll get the chance to tour all kinds of fascinating tiny homes. Witness how the movement has swept the nation, mingling and networking with other tiny homeowners or fans. Homes will be represented by everyone from pro builders to regular folks who just decided to live tiny.

In San Diego, John Weisbarth, host of “Tiny House Nation,” will talk about the exciting future of tiny home living. The Simple Living Marketplace will pop up in both locations, displaying local services like custom windows, solar power, homey security, and keys, and guests will be treated to live music, food, and beer.

To get serious about your future tiny house, enter TinyFest and Tiny House Build‘s #TinyHouse 16-hour Digital Workshop & Plans contest and save $400 on a course that teaches you to safely design, build, park and transition into a tiny home on wheels. The winner also gets Digital Tiny House Plans for the famous 24-foot or 28-foot hOMe.
