Wood furniture
Plastic furniture
This is the easiest of all. Just wipe clean with the same soap solution used for wood chairs, then hose off and dry.
Metal chairs
Use the same soap solution and a soft cloth, but work in sections and wipe them dry immediately to prevent rust.
Wicker furniture
To clean wicker, use the upholstery attachment of a vacuum cleaner to first remove dirt lodged in the fibers, then wipe down with the same soap solution, shake to get as much water out as possible and let dry.
Outdoor fabric cushions
Use a stiff-bristled brush to remove dirt and any other particles from the cushions. Spray the cushion liberally with the soap solution. Let sit for 20 minutes, then rinse with a garden hose and let dry. To remove stains, spray the soap mixture on the stain and blot with a microfiber cloth. Repeat if necessary.
Zipper covers
Zippered fabric cushion covers can be machine-washed on cold, but shouldn’t be put in the dryer. Instead, put the wet covers back on the insert and let them dry together for a better fit.
