I’ve got three types of kale growing.
‘Russian Red’ is planted on the far left:
‘Redbor’ is planted on the far right:
Both are unscathed and happy, but between the two is a totally different story:
The birds are attacking the ‘Toscano’ variety. And I’m sure it’s birds because the squirrels would not leave so much of the plant intact.
I can’t totally blame the birds — this is my favorite kale, too. I just think it’s so interesting that they’d leave the other two alone. Who knew that they’d have such discerning taste?!
