Starbucks’ Red Cups Are Back Today, So I Guess the Holidays Can Officially Begin Now
It’s the 25th anniversary of the holiday cup.
What’s a holiday season without a Starbucks holiday cup? For some people, seeing those cups make their debut signals the start of festive times. And this year the occasion is even more special since it’s the 25th anniversary of the holiday cups. Yes, they have been around for a quarter of century. How old do you feel now?
To mark the occasion, the Seattle-based coffee giant is launching four designs that are supposed to look like they are wrapped gifts. “We have always talked about the cups as little gifts, and we hope they feel like a festive present to our customers and store partners,” said Gary Jacobson, Starbucks creative director for this year’s holiday campaign, in a press release.
The cups and Starbucks’ popular holiday drinks are available in stores starting Nov. 3. In terms of drinks and treats, you’ll find old favorites like the Peppermint Mocha, Chestnut Praline Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte, Sugar Plum Cheese Danish, Cranberry Bliss Bar, and Snowman Cookie. There’s one new item on the menu this year—the Chocolate Pistachio Swirl, which is like a cinnamon bun with brioche-inspired dough and mint chocolate chips and pistachios (pictured above).
