New year, new flavors. ‘Tis the season for making resolutions, and I’m determined to revamp my recipes this year. Too often, I find myself in a cooking rut, relying on the same meals to get me through each week. But it’s 2024, and it’s time to try something new. This January, use our seasonal recipes to shake up your dishes, from everyday fare to dinner-party showstoppers

We’re keeping things hearty and healthy this winter with root vegetables and plenty of greens. Roast beets and top them with tahini for a nutty, earthy salad. Get creative with seasonal greens this year. Add kale and spinach to flavorful shakshuka, and trade potatoes for cabbage in a savory gratin.

And we couldn’t forget the citrus! Grapefruits, oranges, and lemons are the fruits of winter, and we found plenty of tangy dishes and desserts for you to try. Upgrade your usual fruit pie to a colorful grapefruit pie, and switch up your lava cakes with white chocolate and lemon for a light, refreshing change.

In many of our January recipes, a small change goes a long way—which also happens to be true for many effective New Year’s resolutions. Even if trying something new isn’t one of your resolutions, keep these recipes on hand for a tasty start to the new year.
