The Solvang Festival Theater

First raising its curtain in 1974, the Solvang Festival Theater has served as the performing arts heart and soul of the Santa Ynez Valley for 50 years. Set in the Danish-American hamlet of Solvang, the 700-seat outdoor amphitheater is the summer home of the professional theater company Pacific Conservatory Theatre, or PCPA, and also serves as intimate venue for numerous other events and concerts the rest of the year. The theater has entertained tens of thousands of theater goers from every corner of California and the Western U.S. in the past half-century.

A $5.3 million renovation in 2022 brought upgrades to the infrastructure, accessibility, and technical aspects of the theater, making the experience even better. The theater is owned, maintained and operated by the nonprofit Solvang Theaterfest, and it thrives today thanks to an energetic board of directors, active patron program, volunteers, and a supportive community.
