Every steep grade near Aspen—and there are plenty—seems to boast a superhuman local pedaling to the top. But even those using four-wheel-drive to climb the back side of Aspen Mountain will find it breathtaking as they soak in the views of the surrounding 14,000-foot peaks. Little Annie Road also leads to wildflower-carpeted meadows as it climbs 4.5 miles to nearly reach timberline. At the summit, the Sundeck Restaurant awaits with 360° views, cold drinks, and fresh-made wok specialties and burgers for lunch.
