It can feel like every corner of San Francisco has been touched by the tech industry’s magic wand. The latest transformation? The Axiom Hotel, near Union Square: 152 guest rooms come decked with minimalist touches like exposed-pipe ceilings and lighting fixed on cables. Communal spaces have been “teched out” with a mezzanine nicknamed The Cloud and rooms named Nano and Meta. Even the art is wired, à la “glitch art,” where technological glitches are laid over historic photography.
