It’s a new marketplace to get DIY ideas and craft how-tos, plus the tools to complete the projects
Etsy Is Launching a Brand New Site for Craft Supplies

Etsy wants everyone to get crafting. The online marketplace, known for its vast selection of unique products from sellers around the world, is now getting into the craft supplies market to encourage people to become makers themselves. The company is launching Etsy Studio, a separate site just for everyday and unique craft supplies.

There are shops on Etsy that already sell craft supplies—and the company asked both buyers and sellers what the selling and shopping challenges were in this specific category. It created Etsy Studio with all of those factors in mind to create a better experience. This includes new tools for categorizing available items, as well as an experience that’s especially tailored to DIY customers. The company wants to bring “joy” into shopping for craft supplies—something they believe many craft stores are missing.

When you visit EtsyStudio.com, you’ll find inspiration for a wide range of projects, from a DIY camera strap to a multi-color pom-pom tassel. With each project, you can easily shop the supplies you need. Tutorials are also available, so you can teach yourself skills like embroidering, knitting, or woodworking. And, of course, there will be plenty of inspiration and DIY projects for both seasoned crafting pros and novices.

In addition to the new marketplace, the company is making Etsy.com even easier to navigate in the coming year. Etsy already launched a multi-shop checkout in January, which makes it easier to add items from different shops to one cart for a single transaction. Search will be easier to use as well—in the coming weeks, you’ll be able to look for products by filters like color, size, and material.
